The derelict site at 101 George Street - formerly home to office block ‘Essex House’ - has been familiar to us for a number of years. Back in 2011 we were commissioned by Terrace Hill to visualise plans for their 258,000 sq ft, 17-storey office scheme - ‘Chroma’.
In April of 2014 developer Fairfield Ltd took up an option on the site and in June Rolfe Judd submitted plans on their behalf for the transformation of the site into a 305-flat skyscraper...

Gloucester Cricket Ground
Gloucestershire County Cricket Club and Linden Homes have received full consent for their ambitious plans to redevelop the Nevil Road ground. Following refusal of an earlier application, architects have designed the scheme, reducing the overall height and addressing various other issues identified by the planning department.
Gloucestershire County Cricket Club had considered they might leave Bristol entirely should their plans be rejected a second time. They'd suggested Filton Airfield or Gloucester as alternative homes but were convinced that Nevil Road provided the best platform from which the club and cricket in the South West could develop.

Bath Rugby stadium design competition
Having been approached by one of the shortlisted design teams to help them in their competition bid to design a new home for Bath Rugby Club, our team immediately seized the opportunity to put their local knowledge, love of sport and fascination with stadium architecture to good use.
With a few days to go until final bid presentation, we were asked to produce a set of vibrant stills to encapsulate the design details and give a slick finish to the final submission.
Hertfordshire’s BSF scheme
In a time of uncertainty for projects in the public sector, we are truly delighted to learn that we have been part of the winning team on another schools project, this time for Balfour Beatty on Hertfordshire’s BSF scheme.
It was touch and go for a while but the bid team have proven the point that the two sample schools are key to the future of many Hertfordshire families and will be going ahead as planned.
